Wearable technology has made construction sites safer and more efficient for workers and supervisors. TokenMe, a Dutch company, has taken this innovation to the next level by creating a real-time tracking solution designed for construction managers. This system was recently recognized at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Tokens: The Future of Construction Site Safety and Efficiency

TokenMe is a system that collects data about the users’ location, movement, and time using smart badges or helmet tags called tokens. These tokens send the data to anchors placed around the worksite, allowing for easy tracking and surveillance of personnel and visitors.

The tokens are compact and measure 45x45x12 millimeters. They have an impressive range of up to 50 meters and a long-lasting battery life of 500 days.

On the other hand, the anchors, which are larger in size and measure 150x66x42 millimeters, have a wider coverage range of up to 500 meters. They come equipped with advanced sensors that can detect temperature, humidity, air quality, and even motion.

The data is processed through an AI engine in a cloud database to provide project managers and other interested parties with a dashboard that shows graphs, visuals, and observations about task completions.

The data is securely stored, ensuring 100% privacy protection.

TokenMe provides a mobile people counting, environmental monitoring and asset tracking solution to increase safety and reduce costly delays on large construction projects.

The Case Study of the Odense Hospital

As you step into the construction site of TokenMe’s latest project, an 80-hectare hospital in Odense, Denmark, you immediately notice the innovative technology that has been implemented throughout the building,

Workers are wearing tokens equipped with Bluetooth and UWB technology, and as they move around the building, these tokens send data to strategically positioned anchor points.

The anchor points are equally distributed and equipped with a variety of sensors, including motion sensors and temperature sensors. This system enables continuous monitoring of both the workers’ activities and their environment, ensuring their safety throughout their work.

If a worker falls, the sensor on his helmet will detect the fall and immediately send an alarm. Also, you will immediately notice that when you get close to an anchor point, it will start blinking for a couple of seconds, which means that your presence has been detected.

A cloud database receives all of this data, where an AI engine analyzes it and creates a dashboard for project managers. The dashboard provides a wealth of information, including graphs, visuals, and observations of task completions and worker movements.

TokenMe's intuitive dashboard provides zone based insights and alerts for workers’ presence, task progress and environmental conditions.
